Guidlines And Policies

Thank you for selecting the Utah House for your party or special event. Below you will find helpful information about our facilities and rental policies. If you have any questions, please contact our office at (801) 544-3089.

Facility Occupancy/Maximum Capacities

The capacity of the Utah House and classroom is limited based on safety regulations. The Utah State University Fire Marshal has set the following limits on occupancy. Events that utilize the outside spaces may be eligible for expanded limits.

Main House – 140 people maximum

Classroom – 40 people maximum

Reservations

The full facility is available for events weekdays after 5pm and Saturdays after 2pm. Classroom only rentals may also be made during business hours.

  • A $100 refundable deposit is required to secure your reservation. This amount will hold your reservation and serve as a cleaning deposit. The full amount will be refunded if the premises are left clean and in good condition.
  • Full payment must be received no later than 30 days prior to the event.
  • A 10% fee will be added to all late payments.
  • All checks should be made out to Utah House, USU Extension

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the event will result in a forfeiture of the deposit. Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the event will be assessed a $10 handling fee.

Rental Fees:

Classroom Only:

  • Full day/Evening: $100
  • Half day (up to 4 hours; during business hours only): $50

Full Facility:

  • Half day/Evening: $300
  • (Six hour maximum; $50 per additional hour)

Photo Shoot:

  • $60

Catering and Set-up

  • Set-up for events should be arranged in advance with facility staff. Set up may be done during business hours or up to one hour prior to after hours events.
  • Decorations are allowed and furniture may be moved provided nothing is attached to the walls and furnishings are not damaged. (Please see Restricted Activities below.)

Restricted Activities

Please be aware that as a Utah State University facility, the Utah House cannot allow the following anywhere on the premises: alcohol, smoking, candles.
